Choreographic Works
Everything here was made for Princeton University Ballet. Spring programs run in Hearst Dance Theater, fall programs in Frist Campus Center Theater.
Two different jobs are listed below. Choreographing means the movement did not exist before. Staging means taking existing repertoire, in this case a classical variation with a century of performance history behind it, and rebuilding it on a specific group of dancers: setting the counts, adapting for the number of bodies and the space, and deciding what to preserve exactly and what has to change to survive contact with this stage and this cast.
Romantica
A Romantic-era-inspired classical ballet piece; each dancer carries a part of the quartet, embodying the harmony in a different form.
Music: Piano Quartet in E-flat major, Op. 47, Schumann.
La Bayadère, Kingdom of the Shades variations
The famed corps de ballet piece and shades variation (Le Rêve du Radjah), restaged for a quartet.
Music: Ludwig Minkus.
Equilibrium
An athletic sneaker-ballet piece that breaks from conventional ballet norms, using movement, lighting, and formation to play with color on stage, embracing difference and ultimately reaching a state of equilibrium.

Study No. 2
A technically complex, dynamic neoclassical piece dancing at the border between jazz and classical, breaking down fast-paced intricacy with the excitement of a newly imagined classicism.
